your departure

YOUR DOCTOR WILL DECIDE THE DATE OF your departure:
He /she is the only person who can authorise your legitimate departure. If, however, you request to leave contrary to medical advice, you will have to sign an affidavit releasing the clinic and its doctors from any possible consequences related to your decision.

YOUR DOCTOR WILL DECIDE ON THE MODE OF TRANSPORT:

Depending on the condition of your health. Either a taxi, ambulance or particular vehicle of your choice will be called.
The male or female nurse in your ward must be informed if you wish to call your own ambulance driver in order to avoid possible litigation.

CONTINUATION OF TREATMENT:
A report on your hospitalisation will be sent to your specialist doctor, or to a doctor you have designated, a few days after your departure.
Do not hesitate to ask for advice about the way in which prescriptions or dietary guidelines should be followed.
With the agreement of your specialist doctor, it will still be possible for you to make an appointment to see the doctor at the clinic. Details of how to make such an appointment are available from the supervisor.
In certain cases, the doctor at the clinic can, in order to ensure that your healthcare and monitoring continues, recommend hospitalisation in your own home or in a convalescent home.
A minor cannot depart unless accompanied by his / her parents or legal guardian.

medical fees

Medical practitioners at the Du Pré Clinic comply with the conventions laid down for Social Security Doctors. Surgeons practise within the free fee sector (sector II) for which an excess can be charged. Supplementary fees such as these are usually reimbursed by Mutual Insurance Companies or Funds, either partially or totally. A prior agreement must be reached in writing indicating the amount.

If you are retired on Social Security, you may be able to benefit from an allowance on your return home if certain criteria are fulfilled.
